X-Charger Discussion Thread
hello i have a 07 v6 mustang manual with an x charger on it, i got gifted it after it was in an accident in the rear i got it fixed and what not but now i wanna raise the performance on it, right now im pushing approximately 5-6 pounds of boost with a what i measured to be a 3.2 “ pulley. now im not sure if that is stock if that was modified but if i want to make it a smaller pulley what size can i go? will i need to retune the car? what size belt should i buy ( i currently have a 107.5 “ belt)

The 2.6 pulley was only for the intercooled Xtreme version.
Are you sure it’s an X-Charger and not a ModdBox? The reason I’m asking is that the ModdBox was available with a 3.15 pulley that provided 5.5 lbs of boost.
This company sells Mustang specific X-Charger pulleys, but the largest one listed is for a 2.7 pulley, where you probably want a 2.8 pulley. You could contact them to see if the can provide a 2.8 size.

You will definitely need a new tune for the smaller pulley. A dyno tune would certainly be the best if you have a shop nearby that can do it. VMP Performance might be able to dyno tune it depending on where you are in Florida. Otherwise you could use Ortiz Performance for a remote tune since they have experience tuning the X-Charger.
The drivebelt for the 2.6 pulley is a 105.5 length Continental 4061055 — I don’t know what the 2.8 used.

The X-Charger was available with three different pulley sizes: 3.0, 2.8, and 2.6.

hey now looking through the pulley boys website i realized that i measured the pulley incorrectly, i didnt measure it where the belt rides on, i instead measured it where the outer lining of the pulley is, but im going to roughly say that yes it is a 3” pulley. but now going back to upgrading to a smaller pulley if i push 5 lbs of boost with this 3” pulley will i be safe going down to the one they sell on the website which is the 2.7” pulley and how much will i push there and will it be safe with stock internals. thank you for your help, for real man.
