Default Erratic RPM, Car dies at any time

Well my car finally suffered from the fairly common problem I've heard about.

2006 V6 Manual transmission, Dual exhaust only mod. 14K miles.

Driving along, stop at a red light, car dies. Try to start three times, wont stay running for more than a second. Start a fourth time, floor it and dump the clutch to get into a parking lot. A few hours later, drive home, car revs up on it's own, dies while moving at 10mph in parking lot. Took it on the freeway to the dealer, revs up to 4000 RPM, with foot off of the gas!! Get off freeway, car dies.

Never had this problem before. Dealer think its a TPS, or a dirty sensor...

Anyone else have this problem and find a solution?

I tried searching but couldnt find anything, dont know what keywords to try....

It's scary as f*ck to drive. I was in a parking lot, the car revved up, and I almost nailed someone...

Thank god I have a manual, I just clutched it and hit the brakes!

Yeah, thats what I said to them.
Or possibly a vacuum leak, but I dont think that's very common.

I have had the same problem with the raising rpms (in neutral)... I just unhooked the battery and let it reset, haven't had a problem with it in a while now

Just got it back from the dealer.
They reset the computer, did something with the TPS, and installed a new Throttle body

I would guess that they adjusted the TPS if they didnt have to replace it altogether. I would guess this was the problem in the first place. To adjust the TPS you loosen two screws and move it left to right with a meter hooked onto the two wires. Have your meter on to check resistance and just off the top of my head you should have .99 -1.00 ohms on your wires if your adjustment is correct.
