Default Tuner and Shift...

So far...I am happy with my 06 v6 Mustang...28K miles and with a few scratches I am getting rid of.. I am happy with my power but I am reading the forums and have 2 questions...

I have a manual v6 and I am curious if I get a tuner would it make a difference? I hear that most tuners benifit auto trannys more than anything.... My 2nd question is my throws are a bit long and I want to get a Hurst or BM shifter....anyone got one of these they can report on?

Are you getting rid of the car or the scratches?

A tuner would definitely help your car. The tuner that I went with tuned a manual 4.0 to 210 hp at the rear wheels. That car had the typical mods-- intake, gt-take off muffler, and the tune.

The reason why you hear that it dramatically helps the autos is because the tune also changes the shift points and shift pressure of the auto transmission. Your manual can shift as aggressively as you want, because you're in charge. The auto is factory programmed to be "soft" for most drivers. The tune erases that and causes the auto to shift much more firm and aggressive.
