Default air temp performance

On my 06 v6 manual when the air is cooler the car seems to run good but as soon as the air temp gets a little hot the performance seems quite a bit less, not as juiced . Now I know that for the most part this is normal , cool vs warm air, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any other problem that could be contributing to this or is there nothing wrong at all .

100% normal. heat soak'ed engine perform worse, and then the warm air vs cool air.

This may sound stupid and guys let me have it if it does. But if cold air is what the motor need why not rote a line from the A/C to the CAI to give it cold air? I'm sure if this was not stupid it would have been done. I know that it takes HP to run the A/C compressor but I wonder if the benefit from the cold air would be more.

You cannot have more than 100 percent effeciency. The cold air coming in could not create more energy than it takes to run the ac.

Very logical thinking I must admit, but there are some problems with that. My main concern would be the moisture that is in the AC system. Sure the system has a dryer but its not 100 percent effective. And ofcourse as stated b4 the power loss from the AC wouldnt be overcome by the colder and denser air charge. Ofcourse if you have the heat as we do in my area right now you will be running the AC regardless.

For every 10F of intake temprature rise, you loose 1-2% HP/TQ.
For this very reason I got myself an open style grill so i get a maximum airflow under hood. Also I have a C&L CAI and completely isolated from inside to keep the underhood heat away. Also I routed a 4" (heating duct) flex hose from lower grill to where the Air filter sits to give it additional cold fresh air from outside. After the mod, my performance on freeway improved some. I also ran a test of intake temperature with my xcal before and after mod and my freeway intake temperature dropped to few degrees of outside temperature vs. +15/20degrees prior to changes. I probably gained only 4-6hp at hogher speeds but do notice some difference on freeways when climbing hills in 5th gear.
