Pulley is $80 from vortech's main site. Not sure which pulley it is since they only give sizes not psi. Gonna need to contact or PM chrisc on that.

"With the stock 5psi pulley u won't get 260rwhp. Probably 270-290hp crank and 230-245rwhp. With the 8.6psi pulley, u'll easily see 270rwhp(320-330hp crank). WithLT headers and exhaust I'd say near 300rwhp and probably 350-370hp crank if u dyno or not. Goodluck!"

I like the 8.6psi numbers. How much is that pulley?
If I were you, would run 10psi, and run an intercooler. Its worth saving up for.

I'd have to agree, love the way mine looks under the hood....

Either way you go, you will be happy with the FI options available for our cars.

I have an auto, but there is a guy with a manual who has the same kit and did get 260rwhp on 5psi. I dont think that you will reach 300rwhp no matter what you do with the kit. I personally believe that it is not worth the effort, and if you bump the boost a few lbs more than what I have, you are running in a risky zone. With only an JBA muffler and 8.6psi, I got almost exactly 270rwhp. With plugs, cables, and true duals, I would expect to now have MAX 285. And that is maximum, if I dynoed that I would be very happy.

Personally, this is not enough for me anymore, so I am in the process of getting an air-air intercooler built for my car. With that, who knows what I will run. Hopefully I will be around the level of H/O Prochargers with 10psi, and a bit more with 12psi.

As for the question, the pulley will run you like $70. You will most likely not find a used one on ebay for cheap like other pulley sizes, because 3.40 is a very rare size. You will need to retune the car also, so depending on your tuner, that will be the price.

This is why I say save up for the IC up front. Once the boost bug hits, you can't resist wanting more.

Very true, and the boost bug bites pretty fast too, especially because you know that in just a few hours you could be making a pretty significant amount of power than you are currently making. The only thing about the Vortech is that it doesnt have an air-air unit. Now when I look back, for the price I am going to pay for all of this, I could have got that turbo. However, if somebody were to get this system, and then plop on the aftercooler, it wont run them much more than buying the h/o kit.

missed this post directed towards me..

chrisc, where did you get the cool engine cover with vortech emblem? I need that set up for my car. It really dresses the engine compartment up! Also I have the same vortech set up as you and I thought that I was getting 8 psi as shown in their ad. SO it really is closer to 5 psi? I guess I'll have to upgrade to the smaller pulley!
It is just a Midwest Auto Gear plenum cover with the blue Vortech decal off Vortech's site. If you really wanna get fancy get some blue ignition cables too lol. For boost, I was definitely almost dead on the "5" on my gauge. I never did dyno my setup, but the other guy who has this did, and got something like 5.2

well I never race (Im anti-street racing) and my area (NY) dosent have a track, so I just want a bit more fun on the street (I dont speed.....no more than 70mph ever) and I just like the sound, looks for car shows, and knowing I have a pretty good amount ofpower.

I'd be very happy with 260 rwhpjust from the S/C and thenprobably 275 with my other mods.

WouldI be safe going with an 8.6 psi with dual exhaust, long tube headers, and t-lok?

You would be safe, and from the sound of what you are saying, that is probably exactly what you are looking for. Plus if the boost bug ever bites, you can always go ahead and buy the aftercooler later on.
