Ok I need to vent and maybe get some advise from you guys and gals.
Let me start, I attended a huge car show yesterday something to the tune of about 600 cars or so. I had my V6 in the 2005 to present class. Well I thought I had a pretty good chance of coming home with at least a plaque or something. Thats not what Im so p!ssed about. What Im so mad about is all the winners where GTs all but 1 06 pony convert. and whats even worse one of the GTs I lost to was a plain jane screaming yellow all the mods that where done where the chin fin and a Ford Racing cai. I mean come on. Just because mine doesnt say GT on the side or have 4 headlights. Now Im not saying that GTs are bad or anything like that! I love all stangs and Im glad for this person that won, but my co-workers and even some of the people at this show said I should have been able to beat the GT out !!! Well enough of my ranting and raving.
Can you or would any of you mind giving me some ideas on how I can improve my chances. And yes Im trying to make her a summer only driver and a semi show car.

I plan on doing a bunch of car shows next year.
Maybe they will have a hard time telling its a 6 when I put the blower on,GT front and rear bumpers, androcker panels on. I also plan on taking the pony emblems off and putting onsupercharged badges on the fenders.

Im also going to try to make it a boss tribute....I got a whole year to get her done.

I know what you mean about GT's getting all the love. You may want to lower it to start with, and add some under hood bling; billet caps, braided hoses, hood struts, etc.. What interior mods do you have? Those judges like after market seats, billet and chrome trim pieces etc. Maybe some body mods like stripes and scoops?
Personally I can't stand car shows; I hate standing around trying to impress some dipsh!t I don't give a squirt of **** about. I've only been in one and it was a joke, and it will be my last. I like my car and built it for me and no one else.

No joke though sharp car you have and I feel the same way about shows. I love attending them but I look at the winners and usually they just have 1 big mod that makes them stand out and always seem to be rough and dirty around the edges. Mine is stock besides audio and when I start with my performance and appearance mods I still wont show it because my caris spotless everywhere even underneath and I would be pissed to get beat by someone that could care less about keeping theirs in showroom condition because they have 2 more cylinders.

 

I thought about lowering it, but money wise that will have to wait
As for under the hoodall I have is the SHAKER and a polished prop rod
Interior mod are a big O all stock

And I agree Im making my car for me and only me I dont need to impress anyone

change the grille....that labels it as a v6 and automatically the respect for the rest of the car goes down the drain :-o

Your car looks great. Don't try to impress some asshat. Build the car for you. If it wins shows, great. If not, who gives a rats ***........

It's tough don't fret. Unless your being judged on a specific number of points (like an MCA show) The winners are subject to the judges opinion andusually the V8 will win. Here's a recent show I attended with club I belong to. Tell me how hard it is to win...
The black one in the corner of the picis a black on black GT with a Whipple, the mineral grey next to me is a 170 shot cammed monster GT and the yellow on the other side is a GT with a Saleen blower.
