GPS?
I'm thinking about purchasing a GPS. I've looked at several brands but the one that I keep going back to is Garmin. Wal-Mart hasthe C330 for $228.54.
It would come in handy on the road trips I take often. Sometimes I travel alone so not having someone there to read a map is difficult at times.
What do you guys recommend as far as brand? I don't really need all the features like MP3/Video player......just something that will give me voiceturn by turn directions.

RE: GPS?
I have the TomTom with the 4" screen. The interface is really easy though the voice for the directions is a little annoying. I'm sure they are all pretty much comparable with a few little tweaks here and there. TomTom has the traffic and weather upgrade feature as well.

Do the factory units have voice? You can install one of those yourself in like 20 minutes then get a Ford GPS antenna off eBay. Then call a dealer and ask them to program it for you. That should cost in the ballpark of $80-100 That is, if you want to stay all Ford parts.

Now he has a Acura RLwith the built in GPS, that system rocks!
I thought about buying an inexpensive notebook or laptop and then purchasing a GPS card. After talking to some Dell folks, they told me you can only cram so much in a notebook and that I would be better off with a GPS system. I must say, I was shocked that they weren't trying to push their product on me.

I have an 2005 Accord and that GPS is really good too. Eventually I want to replace the head unit I have now with a GPS/XM/DVD unit but I sure the price tag would be a step towards my wife divorcing me.

RE: GPS?
if you can go in-dash, do that. they look amazing and will function through your car speakers so you can have the radio running and get your directions. with that said i did not have a say unfortunately as to my choice of GPS, but i have a Garmin NUVI also, and it is a very good system. (and you have a choice on the voice of the "person" giving directions! lol) but as soon as i round up around 6-800 bucks, im gonna buy an in-dash 7" GPS monitor. the Garmin works wonderfully, but i just want to keep it looking clean (not like a bunch of random things are in my car, but like its supposed to be there) thats why i want to go in-dash.
bottom line - Garmin is a good navigation system.
