We all have various rattles and vibrations when switching over to aftermarket exhaust.
I've got the one in the radio area and the rear quarter window area.
Also can't keep change in my console... rattles and buzzes...

has anyone else had vibrations start after installing their dual exhaust? i got mine welded shut because i was told that would solve the problem and it went away for like a day, and then it came back. the rattle seems to come from just ahead and below the gearshift in the dash. i cant figure it out. im gonna go back home tonight and try taping some things down in the engine bay and looking under the car but if anyone else has any suggestions let me know.

SOHCman, what r the 10 mustangs u ride w/that ur louder than? I'm curious. And if u could tell their set-ups too, that would be interesting.

Here are some S197s that are nice, but quieter than me.
Borla/Ford Racing: http://media.putfile.com/2007-07-22-BOMC-Ms-Scarlet
Upgraded to Corsa mufflers: http://media.putfile.com/Ms-Scarlet-...Corsa-Mufflers
Another friend has a S197 V6 with XCharger and MRT exhaust that is quieter than mine too except at the top end of his 5000 RPM rev. (mine will only rev to 4000 in stock form)

Also, single Magnaflow muffler on a 4.0 is quieter. (Won the "Pypes vs Magnaflow Exhaust Shootout" in the Ford dealer parking lot!)
Here's Vinny and his baddass 5.0: http://media.putfile.com/08-19-2007-...Pony---AWESOME
I am NOT louder than him...

Wow, I didn't know aftermarket dualexhausts make us that much louder. That 5.0 was bad ***.So how loud am I gonna be with JBA duals, gt take-off h-pipe, and JBA shorty's? Wake up all neighbors on the blockloud? Cause right now when I leave for college every weekday around 6:30 AM, I wake up everybody in my family with my single JBAmuffler. Wondering? Thanx ahead of time!

Dual muffs will be slightly louder than a single at startup and cold idle.
They will be louder still on the highway.

I love tunnels...

Forgot to mention, my Stang is capped at 4000 RPM revs when not in gear, these supercharged ponys and the 5.0s are not limited, so if you extrapolate 1500 more RPM on my revs it will be about 25% louder than my idle vid.
On the highway everybody can hear my stang while driving theirs.
Except Vinny & Sam... LOL

How much louder r duals w/shorty's over just duals then?

Single headers usually allow extra sound out of the FRONT of your vehicle that would normally be limited by cast iron exhaust manifolds.
Going with Hooker headers on my 429 was, umm, "eye-opening", but that was a 7 liter big block with 3" collectors.
Adds a "tinny" sound as they are thinner walled than stock manifolds.
Still sounds pretty badass...

Ha!
Sounded pretty mean, VERY DEEP sound... so deep you couldn't pass a rest stop without making a pitstop.
Messed up your bladder pretty bad.
Pretty funny listening to everyone complain about "drone" nowadays.
Unfortuately, no video of that car ever. Before the days of digital cameras.
