why no performance? WIth a grand you could get some appearence stuff (like a street scene center fog grille) and then an intake/tune/gt takeoff

I would do the free mod of taking off the door ding strip and then get an aftermarket muffler (doesn't even need to be duals, even a gt takeoff muffler for like 50 bucks that you can install yourself in a half hr.) and a CAI/tuner combo from B A M A or another reputable shop.
Screw the appearance stuff, the car looks great as is right now!
If I were forced to do appearance with that money I would at least get the Silverhorse Racing louvers. Hands down the best looking of all the louvers out there.

Get a K&N drop in filter ($40) and a tuner ($400) and use the rest for the louvers.

I would do, CAI/Tune combo (500-600) and then do some lower control arms (120 or 130) and a panhard bar and brace (230). With the remainder, get some door welts and go enjoy the new performance of the car. Just my opinion.

$1000 on performance? CAI/Tuner combo, GT takeoff, short shifter.

U think he needs lower control arms from just a tune/cai? Interesting.Yeah, a cai and a tune $500-$600 is the best performance mod for ur car and no mustang should go w/o one(especially street ones, U lose a race to a ricer and we all look bad). The cai and tune will take away all throttle lag u have and increase hp and torqueby aaround 25 each if u get a 93tune. BAMA is a goodplace to get thator brenspeed, or vmp. GT-take off muffler is the best bang for ur buck performance wise other than that($50-10hp). With the $300-$400 u have left over,u could get the louvers and pay someone to install them. That way u get performance and appearance. I personally think u need the performance now b/cu have a lot of appearance alreadyand ur 18's and trunk subs slow u down a few tenths from stock speed. If ur an auto the tune/cai is a must! Complete new car after this! Good Luck!

If u want just appearance, louvers, lowering springs, and hood scoop will make it look nice. Lowering springs make it look really nice and increase ur handling a lot, hood scoop makes it look mean, and louvers make it look retro and cool. Good Luck! If u don't want lowering springs substitute them with this,

You can get wheel hop on a NA 4.0 easily, so replacing the LCA's is always an effective mod.

I don't think the CAI is worth the money, I think for the extra 2to3 hp you pick up vs. a K&N drop in it's a waste. You could even get the lid off a GT air box that someone took off and use that with the drop in and save a couple hundred.
