What gears do the V6's come with
hey all i was just curious as to what gears came in the 5spd manual V6 tansmission. the reason that im asking is because i want to get more power out of the car and i dont know if lowering the gears would accomplish this or not. any help or input would be great. thanks in advance.

they come with metal ones. the higher ratio you go, the quicker your acceleration will be. however, by this factor, your top speed should decrease. this shouldnt be a factor unless you're a nascar driver.

if you do highway driving the 4.10's are probably a little steep. 3.73's seem to be perfect for most people

yeah if you go from 3.31 to 3.73 or 4.10 you are going to a LOWER gear. Kinda bass ackwards when your talking about gears. Contrary to what most people will admit the 4.10's are very streetable. If your gonna put a gear in you might as well go all out. If you go with 3.73's you will always wonder what those 4.10's wouldve been like. Either way your going to lose gas mileage but since you stated you wanted to mod to get more power out of the car who is worried about mileage?!?
