Default k&n filter

my car has 900 miles on it so I don't want mods that will void my warranty. My question is does a K&N drop in filter make any noticeable difference other than 1mpg? I will be puttng a gt takeoff muffler on this weekend and wondering if more airflow will help

no noticeable diff should be felt other than a slight improvement on throttle response but nothing to brag about. if you plan on keeping your car at stock performance (besides your gt takeoff) a k&n drop-in is always a good choice. if you want to feel a little extra power, try their full CAI kit. if you want to set your car apart from the daily driver mustangs, get a programmer with some custom tunes. it will feel like a beast....you'll fall in love with it all over again [8D]. good luck with your modding.

I cannot emphasize strong enough, get a CAI and Bama torque or race tune, with a GT Takeoff.
You will see huge gains in horsepower, pickup, and response with the CAI and tune. When you want to return the car to stock, just stick the old airbox back on, and return the tune to stock tune.

thanks for the input but doesn't the cai void the warranty if lets say you breakdown and need to be towed no time to switch air box

if you buy a CAI with stock size MAF that will function correctly without a tune, you dont have to worry about warranty (unless they prove your CAI specifically caused your problem which i haven't heard of ONE case yet). i've taken my car in already for minor things with my AEM intake installed and never had any of the techs mention anything of it. i did switch back to factory tune before taking it in of course. if you're really worried of possible scenarios, get a good "no tune required" intake and you can decide whether or not you want a performance tune later down the road.

dude, you are driving a friggen brand new car. it is not going to break down on the road!! lol!!

check out the AFE intake, it gives good gains for a non-tune intake (people say non-tune intakes are useless but they are the new guys to the game....they just say what other people tell them)

yeah, i heard from others also that the aFe is the best "no tune required" intake. i'm sure with a tune, it kicks butt too.
