So, since the vortech is centrifugal, I should keep the 4.10's? Or are they too steep even for a centrifugal charger?

Go with the tune and CAI first.
SteelStang05,
It depends on which SC you are going with. With something like a centri, you want to go with a taller gear to get the rpms up for the SC. For something like the X, you don't need such a tall gear as the boost comes on near instantly.

Sorry, Gears will allow you to get in the powerband quicker(accelerate quicker)and t-lok will allow you to have power to both wheels helping aid in traction. But like we said, you need a tuner before you get gears. You can get the t-lok w/out gears but you'll spend an extra couple hundread in labor doing them separately.

truetrak does the same thing as t-lok, but can withstang more power ( i think), and a 8.8 take-off is the gears and rear axle taken off a GT. correct me if i'm wrong rygen, i'm new to performance mods, but i have started doing research to get new gears and t-lok for my stang

The Ford T-Lok uses clutches to engage both wheels. The Detroit Tru-Trac is an Eaton style LSD, and itdoes not use clutches. As such, it is a stronger LSD than a T-Lok.
Here's the deal - you can rebuild your 7.5" rear with a LSD (T-Lok or Tru-Trac) and gears, which will run you a conservative $700 for parts and labor. Or you can spend a little more and get a take-off 8.8" rear end that is stronger.
I went the former route and lucked out to spend only $600 for parts and labor on my 7.5" rear. In hindsight, I REALLY wished that I went with a 8.8" on my 4.0L/5spd coupe. Right now I'm cutting consistent 60' times of 1.93's on DR's (stock clutch too), and I am now waiting for my 7.5" to give up the ghost. But once it goes I will have a great excuse to buy new parts to mod my car again

ok im opting for the 8.8inch again and getting a take off part....do u think ford will be able to install that? since its just a swap, and how long should something like that take to install? longer that popping the gears and tlok into my 7.5?
