Dual Exhaust on V6 with GT Mufflers???? install 2 pipes right back?
Hi guys I got some GT take off muffers and I took them down to the muffer
shop near me to have them put on. When I came back from getting lunch they where on.
The put 2 pipes 1 each from cat right back to the muffler? No X no H or anything just each pipe going back to it's own muffer?
Dose this sound right? the guy said it will give good power and it sounds ok.
Is this ok to run it this way with no H or X set up?
Any input would be great.

Is that what a y pipe is? i wouldn't know, but I've been wanting to have duals put on for months now. Did they cut the rear bumper for you too? How much did they charge?

It could $125 Plus the $70 for the cost of 2 stainless tips plus the GT mufflers. I put a GT rear bumper so it fit fine.
It would like a H set up just no pipe going cross from the 2 pipes gonig from the Cat to the mufflers.

you need a y or an x, to balance out the exhaust pressur in each of the sides of the engine

Socal2fast, if you're not too impressed with the sound from your straight pipes, have the shop weld on a cross pipe a little after the cats where the pipes straighten out. this will give you the h-pipe setup and should improve sound. check out the jba site for the 4.0 dual conversion for an image reference.....good luck!!

I installed dual GT mufflers (from a manual car) on my wife's 06 Pony without an X pipe 1st. It had a ricer sound and lost performance, 1/4 time went from 15.7 to 15.9.
Installed an X pipe and it sounds really good. Have a little vibration at idle and a dead spot at 5500rpms. 1/4 time dropped to 15.5.
Installed a C&L cold air package & custom tune. Idles smooth, the dead spot is gone. 1/4 time dropped to 14.8,hada hard time hooking up, too easy to spin tire off the line.
I now have 20K miles on this setup and it sounds even better. Next mods are 4:10 posi & bigger tires.
