Winter Storage Question

Winter Storage Question
Hey all! Well the cold North wind is a blowin', and it's time to put the pony up for the Winter. But first, a stupid noob question:
My in-laws' garage is not heated, so should I remove the battery and store it inside the house? Will this have any negative effects on my 93 octane tune when I put it nack next Spring?
Other than adding Sta-Bil (already done this morning) to the full tank, is there anything else to do? I just had the oil changed about 1000 miles ago.
Thanks!
Scott

You could pull the battery out, it won't re-set your tune. Put your car on jack stands.

RE: Winter Storage Question
Run the engine for a while after adding the stabil
so it gets into the whole fuel system and not just
the fuel in the tank.
Leave the doors open a bit to save the rubber
weatherstriping around the glass.
Put some desicant inside to absorb any moisture.
+1 on the battery disconnect.
Trickle charger for the battery?

RE: Winter Storage Question
Banka. Why do you put it up on jack stands? For the tires? If so, can you park it on carpet instead?
Wouldn't putting the car up on stands fubar the springs?
Scott, if you used synthetic oil the 1000 miles won't be an issue but if you used standard oil or a blend I would recommend changing it out with a synthetic for the winter. Instead of pulling the battery I would recommend installing a battery minder; it has been my experience that if you start the car once a month and let it get to normal running temperature you don't end up with loud lifter noise when you take it out of storage.
