i dont know for sure, because i havent had the work done myself. but cams can be ground so it is alright for DD use, or you can have them ground wayy crazy and high rpm/ high HP fun, whatever you want. the heads and cams ( as i understood it) were not done by SSM, but by a speed shop, he had a 3angle valve job and his cams custom done. idk what SSM will give you. they advertise 25 hp on just heads not, cams too. the power is available. you just have to have the incentive to get it done.
Yeah, I'm looking into it now, will have the money after x-mas for at least heads , may have to wait a little longer if I want cams. I'm a little new to P&P stuff, so what's a 3 angle valve job do? And, I think for cams, there is a place on the netwhere you can get cams done to your specs, so that's an option(It'd probably be like trading hp for torque and vice versa depending on thepowerband). Thanks for the help!

Gash has the SSM heads, and he did not show that kind of gains. Ranebowcyxx is taking off his procharger, so he can test the PH heads and centri cams NA. Not sure how his centri cams will react to the car NA, but he is gunning for 12's NA.

i'd send that ? to wickerbill. im not a mechanic, and i get the basic idea of what a 3 angle valve job is, but i cant explain it very well. he posted a thing about it on another post and it explained everything. but if you want to know the exact technicalities of everything. i'd go to him.

Its so you can run stronger valve springs, so you eliminate/reduce valve float. It also lets you spin the motor to a higher rpm safely. You also need them if you go with cams so the spring is strong enough to reach the lobe on the regrind.

Bull****! How many drivers can tree John Force?

+1 on the maturity level. physically a 20 yearold has the potential to be a better drive then a 40 yearold, quicker reflexes, and vision and what not but experience does help. i say 400 is fine

"400HP too much power for a 19/20yr old?"

Without reading any of the responses in this thread, YES. It is way too much power.

I'm not much older... I'm 22, and a girl, but I can tell you that two-three years ago I was not the driver that I am today. It's not that I've taken driving classes to improve my driving, nor is it that I was a bad driver who f'ed up a few cars, but with age and experience you become better at driving. I didn't have my first car until I was 18, and that was a '99 Mazda 626 that got handed to my younger sister and will be handed to my even younger brother soon. That's the kind of car to learn on. I then graduated to an '03 Toyota Tacoma crew cab pickup. It had considerably more power, and of course, handled much differently. It had no traction control whatsoever and in the rain I did some pretty scary 180 degree sliding at times. Then I got my first brand new car, the '06 Mustang. I've never gotten a ticket or had an accident. I think for a kid that age, a stock Mustang V6 would be the place to start. That way you'll get accustomed to rear-wheel drive and a considerably powerful car. Mod that after you get to know it, and then upgrade to the GT after a few years and then go for the 400hp some time after that.

Cheers.
