break pads
soo my car only has 10,900 miles on it in a year and 4 months of use.. and my breaks are wearing out and squeeking now..someone said that that was normal for a first set of pads to wear that fast but I just want to see what others say to be sure..

I have almost 60,000 miles on my original pads and there is still some pad left (checked it out recently when I had it in for service). I get some squeaking, but it is likely some glazing on the pads -- (some high speed passesand thestops at the end will do that). You may have some glazing on your pads rather than the wear indicators showing the pad is worn out. That seems like very little miles to be worn out.
Actually mileage has very little to do with break pad wear and tear. It's how often you stop, not how far you drive. 10,000 city driving miles is worse than 60,000 highway miles.
Although, 10,000 miles is extremely low considering... I would have someone check them out.

Replaced my pads at 40K. Lot of stop and go on a daily basis. Last car I had put EBC Green pads on because of the lower dust. So I figured I'd do the same for the Mustang. Let me tell you they suck ! Just as dirty as the stock pads and squeal like a stuck pig ! Went to their web page and read that on some applications shims are needed. So I E-mailed them back in September and never heard a word from them.
Stay away from EBC pads.

10900 miles is way too soon for the front pads to wear out but just how worn are they ?? How much pad is left ? Also I don't know who told you that ,it does not matter if it's the first set or the fourth .It has nothing to do with wear
The brakes will start to squeek when they are used heavily. The lines heat up and expand causing a squeeking sound during light to moderate braking. There is a TSB on the brake lines. I have 17,000 miles on my 05 and my mechanic said the stock padslook fine.
hey sorry I didnt reply sooner..
I took my car in for service today (had to get the motor in my seat replaced) and I asked my service guy about it..he said that most likely it has to do with dust being in the brakes..which makes sense since I where I work 90% of the time I have to park on a dirt lot..
so, I am hoping thats all there is.
