boost controllers/turbos
So I was thinking about getting the ph intercooled turbo but I was wondering since my car is a daily driver how easy is it to keep the turbo from boosting, also would a boost controller be worth buying to help control boost.

RE: boost controllers/turbos
Your right foot will keep the turbo from boosting.
The wastegate determines your initial boost limit, followed by the boost controller. For example your wastegate spring could be set at around 5psi and the controller is used to set the limit beyond that, say 10psi. If you only want to make 5psi, disconnect the boost controller. If you want to make less than 5psi, your options (or lack there of) depend on your type of wastegate.

PowerHouse uses a Tial 38mm wastegate standard with their kit for the 4.0
Boost is easy to stay out of during normal driving around town.
I have a Hallman manual boost controller. Do yourself a favor and if you go with a boost controller in the engine bay, then make sure you semi-hide it so when the hood is up people/kids/punks don't feel the need to turn it on you.

RE: boost controllers/turbos
hey buckman sry to ask but what all had you done to your engine before you turboed it? And how much did the setup you have cost round about?!
thanks
thanks
The main thing I had done specifically in regards to the turbo install was getting the tlok/gears put in. Didn't want to run around on a peg-leg.
My full mod list can be found on my website under "The Build" section.
With the old build I had spent around 16k for the full mod list.
The new build I won't bother keeping track of money.

RE: boost controllers/turbos
but no internal mods before the turbo?
In my opinion you can run on 13 lbs of boost at high 11's all day long on stock block without fear.
I ran 11.9's on stock motor and turbo @ 13 lbs
I ran 11.02 by adding a 75 shot of nitrous on stock block, but eventually this proved to be too great for the motor and it blew a nice fist sized hole through the block.

Hey Buckman,
I was wonder if the PowerHouse Turbo has any effect on our hood clearance. Later I would realy like to get the CS6 hood but I know there are issues even with the paxton supercharger. Any suggestion?? Thanks for the help.

RE: boost controllers/turbos
i have the ph turbo with the boost controller under the hood.
You can stay out of the boost all day if you want.
My boost is between 7 an 8 and I make around 330rhp with a
very conservative tune. You an get another 30 rhp with a different tune.
All install questions should be handled by FAZM he did my tubo and 2 others
this year. But I must say it looksvery complex to me.
