Default Valve float vs Tranny Failure

Looking for F/I soon but I have a question. Which is likely to fail first tranny vs internals and at what power levels. Is it based on RWHP or lbs of boost (i.e. turbo/supercharger)???

Thanks
James

The auto tranny can do 400rwhp+ and the manual tranny can do something around 370rwhp

the trans is actually based on torque, not hp.

ive blown 2 stock transmissions, a built 7.5 rear, and a stock 8.8 rear and my engine is fine....

Thanks guys,
So would you say around 350-370 torque would be the gray area?

I'm not sure you should fixate on final HP numbers. When going FI, the amount of boost (and your tune) will determine engine longevity. I remember reading that 11psi was the agreed upon top level of boost to run safely. A turbo at 11psi will generate more HP and torque than a supercharger at 11psi.

+1 scrmin had stock rear end and a fast car 12.8's with no engine, trans or rearend problems.
Droptop6 had the same set up and floated 2 valves and did his rear end wrong.

Depends on the tuning as well, if you run lean for like a few seconds at 11psi on a stock motor there is going to be some engine longevity problems..

I was referring to the Transmission withregards tofinal numbers/torque. I agree that the engine longitivity would be combination of boost and tune. Am I right to assume that our manual transmissions would be more likely to go before our stock motors?
