gains from removing stock muffler?
has anyone tried to do a run on the 1/4 without the stock muffler? i know they are restrictive and since they are so easy to take out has it been done? what type of gains can you expect from doing this?

RE: gains from removing stock muffler?
From a stock single v6 muffler to a single GT takeoff the horsepower at the wheels gain is 8 on a Manual transmission V6 and about 5 horsepower on an Automatic transmission V6. I don't think any noticable gain would come from the muffler maybe loudness, but definatly not anything more than just an intake would do. I hope this helps a bit.

RE: gains from removing stock muffler?
Hi Joel, I dynoed my 07 stang when it was new one year ago it registered about 175 rwhp. Over the past year I've modified the car quite a bit, I run straight through exhaust, no mufflers. I redynoed and registered about 1005 rwhp. Not bad for just removing the stock muffler. Take care, Jack.
