safe idle speed ???
what is a higher idle speed that is still safe? i've heard and read of others who had theirs set at about 900rpms. last night i raised my "drive" idle speed 100 rpm's from 748rpm to 848rpm. reason i tried this was to attempt to reduce the annoying center dash/shift rattle i was getting whenever i stopped while still in Drive. i noticed this morning that the rattle wasn't as bad as before but still present. can i safely raise my idle speed a bit more? thanks for any feedback on this.
i'm guessing its the exhaust mod and others agree with that also. i cant remember if it ever rattled before the exhaust since i got my setup only about a month after i bought my stang......sometimes it feels just like yesterday[8D].
does it sound like its coming from right under the shifter in the bell housing area?
if so there is a TSB out on this. Mine does the same thing, im calling to make an appt with ford tomorrow
