Default RPM problem after dual conversion

Hi. I recently installed duals (catbacks) on my '06 V6 Pony 5-Speed Got everything take-off except for the H-pipe, which was fabricated by the muffler shop. I was under the car with the shop guys during the entire install. Looks & sounds great but the other day, for the first time, I got around to reving her up in my driveway & she won't go over about 4000 RPM. Starts shaking & shuddering, like she's missing. I can only suspect that the mod has completely screwed up my backpressure or something. Has anyone encountered this problem, or have any suggestions or solutions? I didn't even think about how this would effect my warranty. I'm afraid to take her to the dealer now.

Thanks for any help on this.

SC

LOL, the car has to be in gear to go over 4,000 RPMs. It's got a rev limiter or whatever on it so while it's in park so you can't rev the hell out of your car while it's not under load.

I doubt it is the exhaust. Many, including myself, have gone with a dual setup without problems. Check all of your air intake hoses, connections.. also make sure the sensors that are plugged in the exhaust right at the cats didn't get loosened during the exhaust install.

You may also try unhooking the battery to reset the computer.

BULL! That guys WRONG!!! All our Mustangs have a rev limiter in neutral. Mine is a automatic and does the same thing. Runs great IN GEAR!!! There is nothing wrong with your car.

^^ FREAK OUT MUCH?!?!? haha. jk. yeah its your rev limiter. it will cause your car to shake and shudder. i love it though. makes it feel like my dad's stingray when i rev it. gives the car a real muscle attitude. whens the last time you saw a rice-mobile shake when it revved? lol.
