it may sound harsh but, take a shovel handel and put it in the mufler then gently push down a bit. it may move the tips away just a bit. thats another reason why i like my duals not welded but clamped. i actually had my tank repaired a week ago and the guy at ford didnt have them strait. but since the tsb is actually for a single exaust and not duals i just losend the clamps and fixed it myself.
+1 on clamps.

The new clamps are pretty nasty looking and haven't let go after 40,000 miles so far!

Plus, if you don't like the sound of your mufflers you can take 'em off and pop something else in.
