Does anyone know what the top speed is on the V6 S197 with the speed limiter removed? Was just wondering if it was worth the price of a new driveshaft

Technically, as fast as you can get it without blowing the engine. You will run out of snort at a certain point though unless you're going downhill. And if you are planning on going that fast, (on a track of course, cuz people on here don't like to hear about going that fast anywhere else) then you should upgrade your driveshaft. The stock one is heavy, cumbersome, and dangerous at those speeds. One guy's busted on the dyno if I remember correctly.

Some one on here told me they got theres up to 140, but thats of course with a new ds!

ive done 120 in 4th gear
i never push 5th simply cause dont want to break anythin

I don't ever go above 100mph. But with the stock gears, an aluminum driveshaft, and the right rated tires I'm sure that 140mph isn't impossible. Maybe more. I am just not stupid enough to try it. Going that fast on the street/highway is how people get killed and lose control of there car b/c they hit a rock or a little bump. Drive safe!

Someone did that compaison with the GT. Given various gears and trannies, without taking into consideration for friction, rolling risistance and air drag, theoretically it could go 200+ mph. It would be interesting to have someone do that with the Pony.

I don't see the aerodynamic limit of the body being any higher then 150mph...and thats pushing it...andI don't think a V6 will get to that speed...just a guess tho. The front is shaped like a plow.
