BBK Throttle Body...Worth the money?
Hey, all! Was looking around V6mustangstuff site, and stumbled across the BBK 70mm Throttle Body. So, I was wondering if anyone here could give a quick review on the positives and negatives of this beastie. Would I have any issues connecting my C&L intake to it? Thanks in advance for the info!
Peace!

Nope, aftermarket TBs are known for failures. The last thing you want is your throttle stuck....especially in an open position.... There was actually a person local to me who crashed his GT500 because of a failed TB in the open position.
The only reliable TBs are the reworked factory ones, like mine.
Larger bore TBs will net very little horsepower gain to the ground on a N/A car, but you will get a nice throttle response . I put the TB on my car when I was N/A, and I was very pleased.

As long as your N/A then it's a paper weight.

You said it yourself. N/A means small gains. Seems like a bit much to pay for a little throttle response on a N/A car. Unless your plans include going F/I then it doesn't make a whole lotta sense. That money could be spent in other ways to make the car more fun. Your mod list obviously supports the use of the Zabteck(def the best one if you are going to do it), but Mystang07 is running a basically stock car.
The aftermarket throttle body is not ALWAYS a waste but in his case it probably would be.

Has anyone tried DIY porting/halfshafting the beasties? There are few throttle bodies out there that don't benefit from a little quality time with a Dremel, and that's free.

With N/A, it is not needed, as it is really for throttle response. With the supercharger, I would recommend it. Any change in the AFR with forced induction can really make a problem.
