Default GT Take off muffler

Sorry if this is another GT take off thread - and yes I used the search and read threads.

For the GT Take off muffler, you don't need to do upgrade to the exhaust system if you just use the right one for an axle back right?

Also, would it just be better to get a flowmaster 40 series?

Lastly, anyone have a GT Muffler (right) they can sell me?

Right, its a simple swap..

I'd stick with the takeoff GT ones over flowmaster.. but thats me.

There's tons of options for mufflers that simply bolt on your setup
(aeroturbine, GTA, GT, etc.)

Sorry I dont have one to sell... that is another story for another time..

I was just admiring how my GT M/T
takeoff sounded over 3000 RPMs.
And no popping on the decel or between shifts.
Its nice and quiet in the neighborhoods but loud
enough for that "Here I come" sound.
It works against you sometimes. [:@]
I was romping it coming out of second at 51MPH and
the cop said he had not heard such a sweet sounding V6.
Then came the ticket..... careless driving

If I called ford and gave them the part number "FI-7849-R" would they find it on the computer? Also, should I buy it from Ford or will it be more expensive?

by it off ebay or look in the classified. you will have to buy both right and left but it will be cheaper than buying new from dealer orother retailer.

you can get it here http://v6mustangstuff.com/TakeOffParts.htm scroll down. It is $75 for both and then you always have the left one in case you decide to go with duals.

maybe think about painting them and getting chrome tips welded on before you install them. that should really make your stang look sharp and clean.

would a single gt takeoff muffler add any noticable power?
