Default windshield wipers...

this may seem really stupid, but on my way to work a bird decided to aim for my and left a nicely sized piece of bird poop in the center of my windshield that splattered. i instantly did th wipers and pulled the handle back to release some of the soap and it just smeared the poop first then the soap came out. i'm pretty sure that the soap was supposed to come out first then the wipers start...has anyone else noticed this?

SDS, I haven't seen you here in awhile.
Never really paid attention how the sequence is. I would go to my car and check but I just detailed my car today!

Nope the wipers go first and then the soap sprays, it is unfortunate, but that seems to be the way it is.

@laser- thanks for letting me know. i was pretty sure my old car did spray then wipe and i kinda thought that was a standard on all cars.

Yea, I noticed this also.
Wipe then Spray.
I just dont use the windshield fluid
when its not raining.
I am afraid it will strip my wax or
leave residue on my paint thats
not good for it. []

well on my car the wipers start first but if u pull it all the way the fluid pretty much comes out like a split second after. if u pull it slightly only the wipers go. try to pull it all the way and see if it makes a difference.

Yeah it's pretty lame, I've noticed the same thing and it pisses me off. I don't like those sensitive wiper blades running fast and dry over a debris laden windshield, lessening the life of the wipers. I've pretty much relegated myself to washing the windows w/windex and microfiber, or cleaning them with the complimentary squeegie at gas stations. I only use them if it's really bad.

ok, i'm glad it's not just me and my car that have had problems but i thought that might actually wear out the wiper blades faster. i wonder why the wipers go first....any ford tech guys around here that can answer?
