DD Odometers
jus outta curiosity i wanna see how many miles alot of other modded 4.0 DDs are pushing.... preferably responses from DDs and not Weekend Warriors... BTW im pushing 29k miles
starting year 3 in may 43,000 and change
18-22 mpg in the city
24 and up on the highway....although i think these figures are based onthe avg speed computation on the Odometer. which mine says avg spd 25MPH gotta love living in los angeles.... i think it would make a funny mustang picture...... when i fill up it says i ususally have 305 - 310 till empty.....
car is running strong....due for an oil change....i pamper her......
the only thing i have replaced was the clutch at 40,000. it would have lasted longer, but i did burnouts a few times too many, and probably one too many and forgot to turn my TCS off.....im sure thats what did it.... i am thouroughly convinced i could have gotten 65,000 or more from the clutch had i not been a dummy...but you live and learn and it was fun..... it was 1200 bucks worth of fun....... other than some rock marks....realtively small, the car looks fantastic, i get compliments all the time....and people flip at how my engine is an almost showroom clean with 43k and ticking.....
im willing to bet my mpg numbers are fairly accurate...oh yeah im a manual..... i think my duals make a small difference in mileage on the highway and in the city....thats why i put the numbers i did.....i dont drive 25mph all the time....lol....just says the avg speed...so i assume the numbers you see for mpg are an average too... so i am accounting for not only city driving but highway driving in the city.....we have a lot of gridlock, but there are times when you can "fly" if you will.... ill let you decide how fast "fly" means...
oh yeah my stang is dealer serviced STAR Ford in glendale....and GAS is my custom shop...no one but them touches my car mechanically or visually until they give me a reason to go somewhere else...and after two years of loyalty and great experiences i dont forsee that happening.

well its just that... its an avg speed....
so technically i guess.... im doing an avg of 50 on the highway..... i estimate my avg speed on city streets to be about 35 and highway to be about 70
i dont doubt the computers accuracy, but i think to be real accurate you should reset the avg speed and mpg avg everytime you fill up......
ill try that for the next month or so and see what my numbers are....

I'm sitting on 51,200 and I bought it at 45,000. I've had it since september and have driven it every weekday to school since then. Considering that I've driven it pretty much everyday for the past 7 months, I don't think that 6000 miles is too bad. I need it to last me 3 more years of undergrad and one year graduate, and there shouldn't be any problem there.
8000 and I've driven it nearly every day for 19 months. I just don't go very FAR with it
When I had my door replaced due to a collision the body shop guy said "what a shame....only 5400 miles too." I said, "It's not that bad, I've had it for just over a year already." He tried to call her a fair-weather car but I said no, I drive it everywhere I go, I just live within about 10 miles of just about anything I need.
I like reading these threads and threads about high-mileage stangs. Makes me feel like mine will stand up for a VERY long time to come.
