Might want to consider a lowering kit...Ford Racing has v-6 lowering springs on the market.

springs and sways will give you the most bang for the buck handling wise. you can have both (and installed) for under 1k. and i'd say a posi and gears for you rear would give you the best bang for the buck performance wise. and you can get both of those and have them installed for under 1k depending on the diff. and auburn or detroit might put you slightly ove that mark depending on how much a shop charges you for install.
