Default The Supercharger Decision

As you all know, I spent two months heavily researching which supercharger was best for me. Doing research on both the X-Charger, Vortech, and Procharger. I inquired a lot of my information from these forums and they have helped greatly. The combined knowledge of the members on these forums is impressive. Just everyday people, it's cool.

Many of you have sent me PMs wondering what happend. Which supercharger did I choose? One guy even said, and I quote...

"Hey Maverick,
You have me curious now, what did you decide? I understand if you don't want to disclose it. You kind of left it like an episode of Lost, lol."
So, I'm here to tell you, I was Number 10 in the X-Charger Group Buy. I was the one who phoned in to order it. The way I figured it, the Vortech takesa while to get its power and I'm street. The X-Charger provides the early boost of most of its power, so its good for me. Also, it was less expensive than the Vortech system, which fit my budget. I didn't want to spend a TOO much on my 05', so I spent half.

Well, that's it. I chose the X-Charger in the end. Thanks everyone.

Good choice. Did you buy the Hi Po kit? Which pulley are you going to run? Make sure you spend some of the money you saved on a custom dyno tune, you won't regret it.

I got the H/O kit. I live in Florida so we don't have those California laws. I'm gonna use the 2.8 pulley (11psi). And yeah, they are sending me a tune for my car right now. But I plan to get 18 inch rims/tires put on my car, so after that I'll go dynotune it somewhere.

Nice man! Although I would get it dyno tuned before you get the rims...

The rims and supercharger are coming in at the same time. I'm going to install probably the rims/tires first, then the supercharger, then get it dynotuned.

Check this out...

Right now I have 215/65/16x8 (x4) on my mustang. [STOCK]

If I get 255/55/18x9 (x2 front) and 275/45/18x10 (x2 back) [AFTERMARKET], how much weight will they add? (The rims are S Style for the 05+ from Americanmuscle.com)

Good choice for street fun. No bad choices, as all the power adders really wake up the 4.0.

Ok that's cool man. I was thinking you were gonna spend the money on the rims/tires first and then have to save for a while to get the dyno tune. Good luck with it all, I'm sure it will be fun.
