Default Shifter Boot

Had my 05 in today to have the airbag recall taken care of and had them look at my shifter boot.
After only 8400 miles on the car there was a hole worn in the shifter boot, and I had them look at
it to see if was covered under my warranty.
They replaced it under warranty and it looks like they replaced it with a leather one [nice score].
The hole looks like something was rubbing when I shift between 1st & 2nd.

I second that!!!

Got pics of the new boot? I've got @12,500 on my 07 and I've been concerned about that same thing because I've got some creases that seem like they'll eventually wear through too.

I've never had to worry about a car warranty expiring on the years before the mileage!!

Haha I think I'm more worried about the noise that comes from the boot rather than holes in it which I could solve that rattle it makes

I would get it out more except for the winters here.
I've put 1000 miles on it this spring after not driving it for 4 months.
I'm not afraid of driving it in the snow, I'm just afraid of the other idiot winter drivers, and don't want them to wreck my car.
I've had many close calls with other crazy drivers with my other vehicles.

The only leather boot has the red stitching from the GT500 orig. equipment otherwise it would be the same boot as stock

No red stitching, so I guess it is not leather.
Well it feels a lot softer than the original.

Not trying to be a smartass but how long are the winters up there?? I understand what your saying it freaks me out too but I don't drive mine as much in the winter but winters probably aren't as bad or as long here but I got tons more than 8400 miles thats for sure
