Yeah I'm 16 and I saved up for a long time (since I was about 10 all I asked forfor Christmas and B-Day was $$$ and I mowed my neighborhood's grass all summer and got a job ASAP) to get my dream car, a 350Z, but I came up a little short (saved about $13,000)... Parent's wouldn't budge on the issue (giving $1000+ insurance)so I ended up car shopping and came up with my 05' Black V6Manual Stang. I love it as it is but it is also nice to know that I earned it with so many years of lawn mowing, etc.

Anyway, I would either go with a new exhaust setup, new rims, CAI and tune, or a new head unit depending on what you are looking for (sound/looks, looks, performance, sound quality/looks). Congrats on the car and I hope you enjoy whatever you get for your car.

I hear ya BlackPearl. I will give the kid credit for just outright saying he begged his parents instead of trying to play it off like he earned it lol. I think Phunny is more proud of his Magnas than the car itself lol, almost every post has a "check out my vids" insert from PhunnyGuy, no offense partner
LOL none taken...but its my only mod... and tho i like them...i love my car.....its mainly stock...so its really the only performance mod i have done so far...there is a lot i want to do, but dollars dictate i pay bill and the car off first.....

im very proud of my car....i work hard to keep her nice and pay her off....i get sooo many compliments on her its rediculous...if i can give this kid a few tips on owning a black car let a lone a pony pack...

get a california car duster....

lots of microfiber rags, i have a 20 or so....

good window cleaner, i use rain x

armor all tire gel, tho i may be switching to mcgwires soon....

mcgwires ultimate spray detailer....

and armor all spray for the mirrors and rockers until you paint them, and trust me you will want to...my mirrors are next....

my tip....black cars are very pretty when clean, about every three days i spend about 45 mins using these items to keep my baby shiny clean....

dust it with the duster first.... before using the quick detailer....nothing looks worse than a dirty black car....i see them constantly in l.a. ..... although it doesnt show as much at night when they are clean at night they look shiny wet...the reflect oh so beautifully....

mine is a daily driver....and because i take care of her inside and out including the engine bay...she looks almost showroom new, save a little bit for nicks from a few rocks...which mind you irritates me..they arent big but i know they are there....

so in closing..i only point out the video because many people in general including myself when making an exhaust decision want to hear what they are interested in.. so if i can help that cause....i try to.....i personally would love louder exhaust, but i live in l.a. and my car gets enough attention......

but if i can offer anything to a new owner of black mustang in general it is to keep it clean...she will not let you down....its a nice feeling to walk out of someplace and look at her....or sometimes find people taking pictures of her...... my neighbors still are amazed my car is three uyears old, 45k on the clock and she looks eseentially brand new outside, inside and under the hood.....

i also maintain her regularly at the dealer and my custom shop(s) if you will....treat her right and she will reward you in ways you never thought of.....

p.s. my parents didnt let me drive until i was 18... my first three cars i sort of worked for and my parents helped....but this is my first pony, definately not my last, i plan to keep her forever, and work my a** off for her....and this one i got on my own......

Holy chit, after reading through this I see a huge amount of kids with brand new cars talking about how they earned them...I direct this at the newly 18 and younger...it is not possible to purchase a new car without credit, and there is no credit b4 you're 18...thus no matter how much you want to convince us of how you "earned" the car, without mommy and daddy you wouldn't have jack. See when I was in high school I would watch these kids crawl out of their new Camaros and chit and think they were the baddest s.o.b. alive...so try not to get a head as big as that yellow mustang's cowler a page back huh? And as for the rest of us..how many of us wrecked our first cars???? lol, give it a few months and see how many 16 year olds are sounding off owning perfect cars lmao

LOL i scratched my bumper on every car i had on the third day.....no chit.....incuding my pony...got them all fixed too...including my pony...my next car...on third day im staying home and playing xbox 360 ......4 cars, 4 scratches all on the third day....i also have hit three deer with three of the four cars....that list does not include my pony and all three stories should have threads of their own....LOL...... hey at least they are proud and want to get into something that is constuctive educational, and keeps them away from all the other possibly bad things out there....while i agree with you i think their enthusiasm should be encouraged....i can honestly say owning this car is one of the greatest experiences of my life...ive met so many people on here, and in my clubs...i am helping to build a club/team, i have learned so much not just about mustangs(which i already knew a fair amount about), but cars in general, not that im dumb or anything, but i can always afford to learn something new. so what if their parents helped them, as long as they appreciate it thats what counts, my parents helped me greatly over the years, not just with cars but in many many other ways, i consider myself to be lucky to have had parents like that, seems most of these kids have the same feelings, so that being said, yeah your probably right, but the kids i meet on the cruises and at the shows, tell and show me otherwise...... my 2 cents.

I would get tune, intake and a single muffler. Take the difference and buy your girl dinner, or buy some upr or mgw interior goodies.
Sage advice!

Rearended a SUV at 45mph in the rain. Front of that 02 accord was obliterated, no clue how I escaped with just 2nd degree burns on my wrists (from the airbag). A second chance at life I suppose.

no credit before you're 18? r u kidding me...well, maybe not in larger areas, but where i'm from you can get loans pretty easily...and really, the bank would rather give you a loan for 25K than 3K...ie, my friend had about 2K in the bank from WORKING, went to the bank to see about getting a loan for an older explorer just to add to his credit...no deal, but they'd give him a loan for a new explorer, so he walked out and just paid cash for it anyway....it's not hard to get a loan, but you need to work and have a steady job, making descent money...i worked 30 hrs a week during high school, other than track season, 20 hrs while at college going to track practice for 3 hours a day, and after i was injured, went back to 30 hrs in college...now i work about 55 hoursa week and it's a breeze...now i'm wandering, so i'll quit...just can't believe that people don't think young cats can get stuff...and as i said before, i'm not at all about parents buying kids anything of value, really
