I've been trying to get the dealership to answer their phone this morning, they are apparently all on donut breaks.Trying to find out if it will definatelyfit on 2005, and if not, why?

 

tituswillfordparts.com has it for 73 plus 10 shipping just in case any dealer tries to sell you some ridiculous amount. Rowdy let us know what they say about the 05s.

Ive been out all day and was about to do it, but ya beat me to it.

 

My local dealership finally answered the phone, I was starting to think it was a holiday or something! They said it is for 2007 & 2008 only, but couldn't give me the reason why it wouldn't work on older models, I really don't think they cared to find out either. Our small town Ford isn't very knowledgable, except on how to grow alfalfa. So if anyone else cancomes up with anything different... I guess us poor 2005's are SOL.

 

Well that sucks hopefully someone will get a better answer I don't understand why it would work for 07s and 08s but not 05s

 

Ok, here's an update: after calling various Ford dealers and NOT getting the same answer twice, I have ordered this keypad for my 2005 pony. I ordered from http://www.teamfordparts.comwho guarenteed it would work on 2005+. They also have it on sale for $75 (came to $82.50 including DHL shipping) which was the cheapest I found. (Our local dealer wanted $129, and the dealer 60 miles away wanted $149!)

The keypad arrived today, and YES it does work on 2005 ponys!!! The only issue I have is the darn thing is too big to fit on the stock gas tank flapper, not so much too big but the stock flap has no where compltely flat to mount it. []Any suggestions on where else to put it? (be nice!) or am I now in the market for a new gas flapper?(and if new gas cap is the cure, what color would be best on my silver?)
