Default Rear Window Louvers

Hey guys,

I drive an 06' Satin Silver V6, duh. lol. Anyways.. Any of you have the rear window louvers for your mustang? I've been looking around very minimal due to too much **** going on.

Basically, if you have them can you please post pics of yours and where you got them? Or if you've been browsing a lot lately, fill me in on which ones are nice!

Thanks guys

The choices is between ABS [plastic] or aluminum designs. aluminum costs more but IMO looks 100 times better. I got mine from Cervini's but most of the vendors carry them.

The black rear or the quarter window louvers? I got both. I don't have the rear louvers on at the moment. The adhesive attachment pieces on mine started to unstick, so I took them off until I get a hardware kit to put them back on. I have the MRT louvers on the rear, and wheelskin.com prepainted quarter louvers.

I'm not talking about the small windows. The entire rear window.

How does cleaning the rear window go with those louvers on? The actual louvers as well, are they difficult to clean?

How much did ya guys spend?

Well these are hinged at the top, little awkward hooks you unlatch at the bottom, lift it up and clean underneath. These particular ones do not come with prop rods, so it's kind of a pain to clean. I've actually enjoyed them being off, washing the car is so much quicker now.
Here's where I got mine:

I love the aluminum ones. The plastic (ABS) ones don't look quite right. However, for about $200 less I'm gonna look real hard at them when It's time. Unfortunatly, there still a ways down on my mod list. I'm going for the go fast stuff first. Post some pictures when you get someregardless which way you go.

Lastly can ya guys tell me about installation? Does it suck or what? Any assembly?

Also, painting them. It'd either stay black the way it comes, or paint them silver. What do ya guys think?

It doesn't suck, it sticks[sm=smiley36.gif]. Yea, I'm keeping my day job.
Seriously though all the hardware mounts attach with super strong double stick tape to the rear glass. It helps to have two people for the install but I did it by myself.
Painting them would silver might look good, depends on your car color. They should be paintable with out to much trouble.
Here are some options I just searched up looking to see if they were painted or anodized. Interestingly the MRT & Cervini's have two different finishes in their descriptions. Cervini says painted while MRT says powder coated. I have the Cervini's don't believe they the look painted, the finish is too thin for powder coating. themac5150 has the MRT brand but both of our kits use the VISUS hardware and are almost the exact same price which leads me to believe they are the exact same louvers. Mayne MRT has a typo or they coud be powder coated. Maybe there was a change made to the final product that was never updated in their text.
@ themac5150, do you know if yours are powder coated or painted?

Roush $729.00 Notes: retro style hinges like the original '69 - '70

American Muscle $469.99 Notes: Paintable, non hinged

High Horse Performance $398.00 Notes: VISUS brand, powder coated, hinged.
I have these. Cervini's Part#7040, $418.00 Notes: Rear Louvers come painted satin blackMRT$416 Notes: powder coated satin black
