VMP or BAMA?

RE: VMP or BAMA?
I have VMP 93 Performance and 87 Performance tunes. I emailed VMP about whether they made an aggressive "track only" or "race only" tune. His response was that he doesn't hold anything back with his performance tune, that it's the best he offers.
There was a previous thread where a guy said he was experiencing some clunking with VMP tunes. Without checking, I seem to think that he said it was the torque converter. He switched to Bama tunes and the problem was gone. I have not had any problems with VMP tunes, and I don't recall seeing any posts, other than the one mentioned, that reported problems.
I have two friends that had Bama tunes, one 4.0 and the other a 4.6, and upon dyno-testing, both cars were running dangerously lean. Both were emailed "replacement" tunes from Bama, but both ran lean again. My 4.0 friend went with an Alternative Auto tune, and the 4.6 went with a dyno tune.
Bottom line, you probably won't go wrong with either tune. If you do have problems with either one of them, they are both very reputable companies that will not leave you out in the cold.
