GT brakes vs v6

RE: GT brakes vs v6
Apply some Blue Loctite and the single use fastener can be used again. Apparently there is pre-applied loctite and they are a bear to get off with hand tools ... which is what I used.

Yeah... if the bolt can be snapped when "re-used" then what would be stopping it from snapping upon first use?
The special "Ford Lock-tite" is the only thing defining the bolt's strength?
I sure hope not

Some bolts, like head bolts, are "torque to yield" which means the are designed to stretch out one time and achieve the correct torque setting. I doubt the caliper bolts, swaybar bolts etc, are TTY and assume it is more a lock-tite type issue but it would be nice to get confirmation from a certified tech.

ITS CALLED A TORQUE WRENCH AND TORQUE SPECS
THEY DONT SNAP WHEN REUSED AND RETORQUED,
JUST WHEN A BIG LOAD IS IMPOSED ON THEM LIKE LETS SAY,
DURING EMERGNCY BRAKING.....
The special "Ford Lock-tite" is the only thing defining the bolt's strength?
NO, ITS A 'YEILD TO TORQUE' BOLT WICIPEDIA THAT ONE
I sure hope not
GET A WORKSHOP MANUAL
THEY DONT PRINT THEM SO YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT

without the use of loctite. Reuse of these with blue loctite is
permissable if properly retorqued to factory specs.

Define some.
Some = not all but not none either = some
I think the online manual will be of more use to me than this thread.
I think the printed workshop manual is of more use than the
spotty online one but hey to each his own.
The workshop manual will tell you to not reuse one time use fastners.
The GT brake calipers come with new bolts for a reason.
Thats all I am saying. Better safe that sorry....

Are you guys are refering to the one time use bolts for the brake brackets correct? I did the conversion a couple weeks back, but I don't recall seeing any signs of loc-tite when I removed the original bolts. I just torqued mine down to factory specs. Is loc-tite recommended for the new bolts? or will I be fine as along as they're properly torqued?
