Default Front Fender Badges

My old man stopped by this morning in his '66 to drool over my new '08. He loved the Pony emblem on the side but asked why we dont have a "245" on the front fender alla the old "289".

I looked around and found these...which look pretty classy and match the Pony and bars.

Think this would look good up in front of the fender?

Here it is:

in my personal opinion, id have to say no. I'm not a fan of putting badges on these cars. If I could I would take the GT off of mine. I like a cleaner look, not a bunch of shiny badges sticking out of the middle of body panels.

Well the 289 was a step up to the v8. I'm pretty sure the I6 equipped cars had the standard tribar pony badges the same as the 4.0 has now. Those 245 badges should look fine under the emblem as long as they aren't too big.

@duce...I love the 70 Boss style stripping but the stock hood might be a little flat for those 245 badges. They look ok, though imo would work better on a nice big hood scoop:-), just my 2 cents.

Here is my 4.0 emblems I added to my non-PP.

I have to ask the old man...but the 200 was seen on the outside on occasion...I cannot recall why. I think that SOME of the Sprint 200's had a 200 either by the tribar or up front...but it was often dealer added as I font think Sprints were tied to the VIN at all.

Again...a reach, but I think it was to commemorate the millionth Mustang??

Anyway...back on topic...I think that old school 245 would look great near the tribar...dont know whay I did not think of it.

Thanks for the ideas guys!

I was thinking of getting the boss hood scope and put the 245 on it. but that scoop looks so frickin big I am not sure it will look right.I also have the 4.0 badge on my trunk lid.[/align]

I think you are probably right, the old hoods were longer I'm pretty sure. The shaker would work great with your theme.

Yea, that does sound familiar for the sprint 200.
I found this post on another forum w/ pics along the lines of what we are talking about. Can only seem to find v8 based examples though.
