RE: to many tuneing options help!!plz
After some careful thought...I decided to go with an S&B and run the stock tune. To be honest, the 4.0 makes power int he right spots for me...and the car feels spot on perfect as is. I did drive a non Pony V6 and the difference was shocking.
All I am trying to do is liven up the motor a hair...I dont really care if I gain anything hp/tq wise...I just would like a bit snappier of the throttle. The S&B has great reviews from folks that did not want to mess with the tune...so I will see what happens.
Am I mistaken...but doesn't S&B make the Ford stuff?

My 2 cents:
I went with Bamachips and installed last weekend. The Stang is so much more 'peppy' I have an automatic also and I THINK that Bama (Doug) specializes in Automatics. I sent out emails to Bren and Bama and Doug at Bama really spent some time with me to make me understand what his tunes would do.

VMP all the way! My highway mileage went from a best of 24.5 mpg to 29.1 with his 87 mileage tune. The car was stock with a Magnaflow muffler and VMPs cai. The car ran real good too. My around town mileage(18-20 mpg)stays the same no matter what tune I use. I have since installed an 8.8 w/3.55s, FRPP dual exhaust kit and aluminum driveshaft. My highway mileage is now closer to 28 mpg. The car now runs very hard with his 93 mileage tune. VMP has a performance package with GT muffler, Xcal tuner and a CAI for around $600.00 or less than $500.00 without the muffler. A tuneris the bestmod you can do to your V6 Mustang especially if its an automatic.

maybe if your looking for gains of like 5-7 stick with 87. If you want like 15-20 gains switch to 93 , not only is it a boost you can actually feel but with the improved fuel economy it makes up for it .
And you paying freaking 4 bucks per gallon what is 20 cents which 5% of one gallon .
