Default Dual Exhaust

Hello, I just got a 2006 V6 Mustang! I'm just curious as too when I put dual exhaust on, what do I about the cut outs? I currently only have the one exhaust cut out on the right side, and was wondering if I would need a whole new bumper with the cut out or if a body ship could do a GOOD job on it? Also, I live in Southern California, and I know there's some regulations on how loud your exhaust can be, but what do I care? Was just wondering if anyone could recomend some decent exhaust, price isn't an issue, but not wanting to go ALL out!

Thanks for the help, it's much appreciated!

The FRPP Kit is a really good one. Plenty of vids on youtube of the kit. It comes with a template to cut out the other side of your rear bumper.Here's the link, there are cheaper places to buy it from however.

I have the FRPP Duals. They are a great. They are louder that just the stock setup but not any louder than a stock GT setup. I couldn't imaging you getting a ticket for the noise unless the cop was just being difficult. Cutting out the bumper is much easier than you think. Just takes getting over than initial fear of cutting your car. I used a dremel tool with a cutting blade. And the cover that come with the kit cover up any minor mistakes you might have made. I say go for it. At worst, you can get a new GT take off fascia.

I got Pype's X-pipe, mid pipe with two GT Mufflers. The X-pipe set up was $235.00 and that waswith shipping. GT takeoff mufflers will run you any where from $40-100. I paid $80 for mine and that included shipping.
If Ford would have had the FRPP duals last year, I would have purchase that.

The guys who installed my exhaust system cut the bumper for me. They said it was very easy and cut like butter. They used this template below;

Airaid...umm...I think that's an intake.

All you need is an X or H pipe, midpipes, and mufflers, which all comes in the FRPP kit. Some people also install headers for a complete exhaust, but you don't have to. If you don't go with the FRPP kit, and you choose different mufflers then the JBA H-pipe and midpipesare a good set to use. I have that paired up with some Borla Stingers, they sound great! Just make sure you go to a good shop for the install.Now back to airaid, an intake and tune from brenspeed, bama, or VMP is a good idea to increase power. It's my next mod!

Welcome and congrats!

Did you happen to get your stang at Kemp Ford? lol, thats where i got my baby. i'm down the hill from you in Camarillo. lots of good places to install the exhaust kit for you. i did the driver side cutout myself by measuring the factory cutout and matching it on the opposite side. hit me up if you got any more questions. always happy to help out the locals.

Best exhaust I've ever heard in person on a V6 was Borla Stingers and a JBA H pipe.

I've currently got Stingers and the FRPP X-pipe on my 6-banger, and they sound completely awesome and get a lot of compliments and all that, but the H pipe had a nicer sound as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately JBA did a poor job of bending the pipes to fit the car and I ended up having to toss them and go with the FRPP pipes.

It ended up being pretty expensive, but well worth it for a one-time mod in my opinion.
