Default Body side molding, is it only on rentals?

When reviewing the 2007MY order sheets I see that body side molding is only available on fleet orders.

Is it safe to conclude that any S197 that has factory body side molding is or was a rental Pony?

Seems to be the consensus.

I've got a 2005 V6 that I bought 2nd hand, it definitely has the body-side molding. When I checked the Carfax, it has a note that it was once owned by Hertz as a rental. They sold it after 800 miles to a dealer, where it was subsequently purchased by a private buyer..

can't fleet also mean it was purchased by a business?

So a person could have owned it if it was a business car (aka written off) or purchased with other fleet vehicles (other mustangs, trucks, vans etc).

Unlikely but possible

Oh crap, so you mean the horizontal molding that goes across the door, about halfway down? I wondered why that was there.

Yes, that's the molding I am referring to. Every time I've seen the molding it has always been the same color as the body color.

A warm day and some fishing line will also do the trick

Its also onLeased Stangs as well.
At least I have seen it on some used lease Stangs.
I have also seen rental trade-ins with the
'BE SURE AND REMOVE ALL PACKAGES" stickers
still on the insides of the trunklids ready for resale. [&:]
