I've never heard of a ceramic coated x-pipe, just ceramic coated headers. Alot of people use the Pypes X-pipe. Pypes also has a mid-muffler system for the V6.

I too have not seen a ceramic coated x-pipe. I bought my Ford GT Mustang x-pipe on Ebay, and went to the Ford dealer for a passenger side GT mid-pipe. The x-pipe was cut into the factory y-pipe behind the cats, and the Ford parts matched up perfectly. I used GT take-off axleback mufflers, and love the results.

Not all LT headers are 50-state legal. You'll need to keep catalytic converters under the car in order to pass inspection. There is at least one LT header available that includes the cats too, but I think that nearly all systems utilize the axleback mufflers as opposed to mid-car mufflers as were used on pre-S197 Mustangs.

not positive on the exact science of it but i would think the exhaust gases would exit a bit faster on axleback muffs vs catback muffs.

except if it were a side exhaust setup where there were no pipes traveling over the axles. that would obviously be the fastest exit.

You got me on the ceramic coated x-pipe. Never even heard of one before....both the Ford and the Pypes pieces are good choices...
