Default MGW Shifter review

I installed the MGW shifter about 3 months ago, and I though I would post my opinion now that I have driven with it for a while.
Installation.
The Install was not very hard. The hardest part was getting the old shifter out of the hole in the floor.
I did the install at a friends house who had a car hoist which helped a lot.
I would suggest reading through the install instructions and watching the video before doing the install.
Driving.
The shifter has a much tighter shift pattern and shifting from 2nd to 3rd is much better.
The shift throw is adjustable and I adjusted it for the shortest throw.
Anothergreat thing about the short throw is that it moves the shifter **** back away from the dash
so the heat and ac controls are easier to get to know.

The Bad.
The only bad thing about the new shifter, and I suspect that every short throw shifter will have this problem is that
it takes more muscle to shift the gears. Most likely becouse the there is less leverage with the short throw.
Next time I am under my car I plan to adust the throw so that it is half way between the longest and shortest.

All in all, I would say that it was very much worth the money.

CKurello,
There was plenty of room for the shifter at any throw adjustment.
You can evan adjust the height of the shiftt ****, as well as where the shifter sits in the boot.
Good luck, and post how it works for you.
