just spend the extra cash to get a nice new CAI and tune. It will be worth it in the long run.

+1.....either go with my earlier suggestion of the ebay AEM knock-off for under $100 if you really want a CAI now or hold off until you can afford a good "must-tune" CAI + Tuner combo. the whole point is to not waste your money or at least not waste too much. good luck.

the best support on CAI i have had is K&N. I broke a brace for my 99 v6 FIPK, called them and i had a new one in three days free of charge, they told me not just the filter has a million mile warranty the entire assembly does, I think i will by for my 06 from them as well

Wait until you have the dough for a C&L and a tune.

Best advice is to get CAI and tune at one time. I have a BBK and kept getting the CEL. Make sure you get a tuner with it.

If you are looking to install a CAI, it will improve mpg. With tune, don't know if will get more improved mpg. I did notice my underdrive pully makes it a hair quicker from dead stop and probably gives me .5 mpg. The CAI makes the engine sound louder making you think you just added 30rwhp! Reality, practically no change over leaving stock air intake. I did figure my $200.00 CAI + $300.00 pulley install will receive return on investment after 4 years based on mpg or 140,000 miles. I get about 2 miles per gallon better with these adders. Think MPG when adding a CAI whether w tune or not.
Jon

Edit: "4 years"

I think that when you buy a Mustang your not thinking in mpg, your looking for a good looking car with power.. now you want really mpg then buy a Toyota corolla people or something else but don't expect 400 hp and 23 mpg.. come onnn..
