Going to purchase a daily driver (20 miles round trip to work) does anyone regret not getting a V8 or are you satisfied with your V6?
For a DD, the 4.0L is a very good choice. The aftermarket for the S197 is strong, GT take-off parts are cheap and plentiful, and the car is reliable. I have NO regrets getting the 4.0L.

4.0 alll the way the 4.6 is nice but the insurance is killer
Depends on what age group you're in and how your driving record looks.

I'm 34 and my 08 GT was only $40 more for six months than my sold 00 V6 and my gas mileage on my 08 is pretty much the same as the 00 V6. No question about going GT this time around.

By the way.. if you are an adult and have on O.K. driving record, the GT is NOT horrible on insurance.
Whoever posted that is full of bologna. There is actually not that much of a difference in insurance.

Shop around and get insurance quotes on the GT, you might be surprised at how cheap it can be. I know out of all the cars I was looking at getting before I bought my GT, the GT was the cheapest...

Pontiac GTO
Saturn SKY Redline
Chevrolet Cobalt SS
Pontiac Grand Prix GXP
Pontiac G6 GTP

Mine is only $840/6mo.
Holy crap.. $840/6mo?

That makes me love my $420/6mo. for my sixer even more You are paying the same amount for 1 car, as my wife and I pay for 2 brand new cars.

Well, I am only 24 and I do live in a suburb of Detroit. I thought it was low considering I got quoted for a LS2 GTO at something like $1230/6mo.

The only reason I wanted the Gt was that I liked the front grill w/foglights. The 6 had plenty of power for what I wanted. So I bought the 6 and put a GT front bumper w/ foglight on and love it. And in town I get 25mpg but on the highway I get 29mpg and one time got 30. Now I'm putting the Gt duals on! There's not a better car on the road as far as I can tell you!

That would be decent for being 24... man, that is one thing I don't miss about being younger

Get a GT. It will be fine for a DD, and you will love it. I would trade my sixxer for a GT in a heart beat

You should ask what your rate would be when you turn 25.I think you'll be surprised at how much your rate drops at that age.
