Default High pitch sound and smells like burning?

Let me start out by saying I baby my car so much. I probably floor it once a month if that and usually it's not because I want to but more like some idiot wont let me get over and I have no choice. Anyways I took a trip to Clearwater, Fl about 4 hours from where I live and I noticeda few things. When I push the gas pedal down about about 3/4 of the way or more I hear a high pitch sound coming from the engine bay. I do have a cai installed could it be a vacuum leak maybe? Also I noticed when I floored it there would be a burning smell coming from the engine bay that would linger in the car for about 3-5 min. (I think it was coming from the engine bay but could there be a chance that it's my gears making the burning smell? I had 3.73 gears installed in my car about 3 months ago.) I noticed both of these problems on the highway and I tested it out a few times. Everytime I floored it I noticed the same thing.

Thanks

I got the burning smell one time after flooring it. I don't believe it ever happened again, but I did wonder what it was.

I, too, got the burning smell once. However, it has never reoccurred.

As for the high pitched sound...that cannot be good. Can you describe it a bit more?

Check your serpentine drive belt . It could be slipping or rubbing on you new cai.

I will check the belt but I don't think it's rubbing on anything. As for the high pitch noise it sounds really similar to a supercharger. I've heard a few other cai's on other cars and the whine sounds different and the whine sounds deeper this is like a squeal. Also the reason I thought it may be a vacuum leak is sometimes when I start up my car the rpm's will raise up like normal and when they drop back down to idle the car will stall out sometimes.

Would the dealer harass me with my mods? Nothing should void the warranty all I have is a cai, gears, wires and a tune? I would bring the tune back to stock of course.

I think I know what your talking about, when I get on it I hear something that sounds like a supercharger from inside the car but I think theyre all like that. Cause mines been doing it since I got it with 200 miles.

Probably transmission noise. Gear whine sounds like that at certain RPM's. Mine does it too and it increased when i added torque limiters to the frame and trans...Not a bad sound actually. as for the burning smell, the most likely thing hot enough to smell is exhaust manifolds heating something up...oil leaks can do this. Also the belt thing, if its slipping you wont see it slip unless its about to go boom...change it anyway with a good gates premium...

Okay one more thing I noticed yesterday, I was driving down the highway doing 80mph and when I would press the gas down a little bit I would hear a grinding noise coming from the engine bay. The performance didn't drop or anything but it was a distinctive grinding like sound. Again it sounds like the engine bay but I guess it could be the noisy driveshaft. I'm tempted to purchase an aftermarket drive shaft just to remove all the underbody noise.
