Towing with the 4.0
Anybody ever tow anything with the V6 Stang? Taking mine cross country with a U-Haul trailer. Getting a U-Haul hitch put on and away I will go. Anybody have any words of wisdom about towing with the Stang? Gotta figure after all it IS a truck engine, real torquey and a good puller I would guess, right?

Assuming that the hitch install goes well, you should have no trouble pulling a small trailer with your Mustang. You're right, the motor will pull the load, but you need to anticipate your stops and not overheat your brakes. Good luck!

Rent a big U-Haul truck and TOW the stang with it.
This question is asked repeatedly.
If you wanted to tow something, you should have bought a truck.
If you do tow, your tranny will not like you especially if its an AUTO.
And the V6 brakes could take a beating as well. They are marginal
for a V6 without the additional 1000Lbs of a loaded trailer.

Well
I really don't think it is that big a deal guys-I am pulling less than 500 lbs plus the wieght of Uhauls smallest cross country trailer 4x4x8. I got a stick and will use dynamic braking a lot. Who says the Stang isn't versatile? lol

If its just 500Lbs of stuff, you could UPS it there
and meet up with it in your, never had a trailer hitch,
brakes and clutch with normal wear, mustang.
Dynamic braking means excessive clutch wear.
I would rather wear out the easily replacable brakes
than the hard (and expensive) clutch replacement.
