Default shorty antenna question

hey guys, looking to purchase a shorty antenna....

few things to those who have them or have seen them:

- do you like the chrome or black antenna better ?

- 8 inch or 14 inch ?

- I do use the radio on occasion so is their any major difference in reception ?

I have 14", black was the obvious choice for my car. I rarely listen to the radio but I did notice on the interstate in the middle of nowhere stations faded out sooner than they did before I think. In town I have noticed no difference. To me it was still a worthwhile mod.

I havent noticed any difference between the OEM 32" and my new 14" chrome shorty as far as reception goes, I was scared the 8" would be too small (i like to listen to the radio) so i went with the 14", which is VERY short compared to that HUGE flagpole that comes out of the factoryline.

I got the 8in black since I have no chrome on the car really, so stick with it. It get fine reception in the city and I rarely listen to the FM/AM since it sounds terrible anyways.

im getting the 14 inch black one...the chrome would get stolen at my highschool.. and the black blends in with the black mirrors. ive heard that there is minor reception loss of radio signal but nothing too much to worry about

I think the chrome or black decision should be made to match the flow of the car. I think the reception problems will depend on your area. If you live in a big city you probably won't notice a difference. If you live a little further away from the stations may experience a little loss but nothing major. I also think the 14in flows with the car more as it is the same height as the roof. I have a black 14 on my stang.

I got a 14" black one because I wanted it to look like it came fro the factory and I also wanted it to match the roof line. I thought the 8" was too short until I seen one at a meet, I probably wouldn't have problem running an 8" one now if I had to buy again.

I have the 14inch black and I just have reception problems with a few stations when scanning but if I go straight to the station its fine.
