BamaChips are AMAZING
Doug recently "tweaked" my race tune.. and I was VERY impressed that my auto v6 chirps 3rd gear now. It actually caught me off guard this afternoon; I was behind someone that practically stopped while turning left in an intersection today.. and I gunned it a little to get past them and turned the wheel slightly to the left... and unexpectedly fishtailed.
I was fine.. as I am more that used to controlling a rwd car.. but I was nonetheless surprised. The combo of the gears+t-lok and doug's aggressive tuning = fun

QUOTE: I just bought a C&L Intake slightly used off a member on these forums but he didn't have instructions for installing. It's in three pieces right now: Tube, filter, and that black case for the filter but I don't know how to install it. I've heard it's a really easy install. Can someone help?
Are you serious? If you are, then remove the old factory intake by unhooking anything that is hooked up to it, and install the c&l intake by doing it in reverse.

I initially emailed him because, compared to my 93 brenspeed tune, the 93 race tune seemed tame. Within 12 hours after the email, he sent me an updated tune and said "try this and we can go from there"..
The first thing that I noticed is that it shifts very hard.... so I know he changed that. That can't be the only thing though, because I adjusted the shift pressure on my previous tune and it did not make this big of a difference. He may have also made some adjustments for the 3.73 gears... but again.. when I asked him what changes he made, I got no reply (which is fine with me).
Before with brenspeeds tune, If I floored it from a stop, I spun my tires and did not hear the tires chirp afterwards.
The previous bama race tune i was running barely spun the tires off the line.
With this bama 93 race tune, if I floor it off the line, I spin my tires and fishtail slightly, and it digs in and chirps in second and third, and shifts hard into 4th and 5th.
Another thing I noticed is, when rolling at around 20, if I floor it.. the car must downshift hard into first.. because it goes nuts (like the example I gave before).
Also, I noticed that the car "adjusts" the rpm a little when cruising.. and seems to keep it in a certain rpm range without me adjusting the pedal.. either that.. or it's so sensitive now that the throttle is responsive to very little feedback.
So.. you guys with gears, t-lok, and autos running the race tune.. is my experience different from yours? Does your car shift hard? If not.. you can always increase the shift pressure with the xcal to see if you get the same result.
