Whats the cheapest way to jack my car up for an exhaust modification? Is the spare tire jack enough to lift it for jack stands?

I would most definitely use jack stands to support the car. Your going to need the whole thing up off the ground to do the work. Might just want to take it to a shop.

Well, some floor jacks wont fit under our cars, I know mine wont, I usually use the Spare Jack and get it up to where I can use the floor jack. I dont know what kinda exhaust mods you are trying to do but it would seem like a floor Jack would be just fine to switch the muffler if you are going to a single muffler.

every shop tries to bull**** how long its gonna take for a pypes dual exhaust, they say it could be 3 hrs at $100 dollars an hour. i have the socket wrenches and dremel, id rather pay the 100$ for a jack and stands. the level of difficulty dosent seem to hard, ive just never lifted a car

If your going to duals I'd definitely invest in the jack and 4 jack stands. Do a search here in the forums on where to place the jack and the stands to get the car up in the air once you are ready to do the work. I just did mine 2 weeks ago and you'll need the whole car up off the ground so you can unload the rear end to get the mid pipe off.

thanks alot for the help, how does your cutout in the bumper look and did you use any sandpaper to finish it?

It looks pretty good actually. I used a box knife to do the cut, the bumper cuts like butter. After the cut was done I used the dremel to clean up the rough edges. There is a video a couple posts down in Pypes mid muffler installed but I don't think you'll be able to see the cut close up.

What kind of duals did you go with?
