I dont think they will scratch anything Nutty2003... If you put them on and decide you dont like them then all you should have to do is take some fishing line/dental floss and pop them off. (for faux hood pins)

But can someone explain to me what the purpose of putting real hoodpins in your hood would be? I just dont see what their purpose is other than looks.

i was referring to the metal wire that attaches to the hoodpins, I'm assuming maybe they would move alot during highway driving? I think they look wonderful and help give the car an even tougher look.

the purpose of hoodpins were to lock your hood down to the body while racing, so you don't have to worry about your hood release engaging all while giving you a very fast way to get under the hood as well. now adays 95% of the purpose is pure aesthetic

pat6674u- Thanks for the pic. looks great! and im way jealous you have an X charger lol.

Nutty 2003- The metal wire is called the lanyard, they usually have a clear plastic case round them to prevent scratching and rubbing.

oh and that background pic you have on your sig, is the same one i had on my old sig:

lol

also going back to the purpose they are use for racing but you have to remember that they take away weight so that built in safety catch is gone its like an insurance policy so you hood wont go flying into you windshield

oh and the "metal wire" which I believe they call the lanyards, won't scratch your paint at all, they have a coating around them that makes them soft.
