I've been looking to get a new hood, but I can't say I'm overly thrilled by any of the hoods I've found. I kind of like the look of the stock hood with a hood scoop, but to me a non functional hood scoop is kind of ricery. I want to get your guys input on the topic though.

 

If the scoop flows with the rest of the car its fine, if it is bright yellow and held down with duct tape, its rice!!!

No, it's not rice. It's non-functional for performance.

It's perfectly functional to my eyes.

 

Yeah I'm like torn in half. I love the way it looks, but I feel like people at car shows will be like wow that's ricery. I like the look of the shaker kit too though but it's 3 times the price. It's a toss up in my mind. Although I know that the shaker kit doesn't really add any power, but at the same time if I pop my hood I feel like people wouldn't look at me as stupid with the shaker kit.

 

No it isn't rice, rice is when things are out of proportion or right out ridiculous.

Giant 5 foot wing = Rice
Regular Spoiler = Not rice
10 Hood scoops that aren't functional = Rice
One good looking non functional hoodscoop = Not rice

Just thinking about a car with 10 hood scoops made me lol. I get your drift though it makes sense.

 

Then again you have to make sure it goes with the car like dont have some buldging hood scoop that sticks out of place.

 

I was looking at this kit by roush. I think it adds depth to the car and looks great.
